Informal dance concert to feature South talent

South student dancers will perform in an informal dance concert that organizers say showcases their hard work and determination April 27.

Awards for excellence will be presented to select dancers at the end of the show, and South dance associate professor Gypsy Ingram said each dancer has earned a place on the stage.

“The dancers in this concert have been enrolled in technique courses all semester and have dedicated themselves to studying ballet, modern, jazz and hip-hop,” she said. “This concert gives them the opportunity to showcase, for their family and friends, the work they have done all semester.”

Ingram said the significant amount of technical and personal growth the students have achieved is both impressive and fun to watch.

“Many of the dancers our audience will see in this concert had never danced before this semester,” she said. “For them, this concert truly is a celebration of what they have accomplished.”

The show starts at 2 p.m., and doors open at 1:30 p.m. General admission is $1. For more information, contact Ingram at 817-515-4270 or gypsy.ingram@tccd.edu.
