Web users can reach TCC boss

Chancellor Erma Johnson Hadley is working to respond to students, faculty and anyone else who may have a question or comment for her.

TCC added the “Ask the Chancellor” button to WebAdvisor four months ago. Anyone can send Hadley a message, said Reginald Gates, TCC’s vice chancellor of communications and external affairs.

“As chancellor, I’m very interested in feedback and views,” Johnson Hadley said in an e-mail.  “The Ask the Chancellorfeature provides me an additional opportunity to personally communicate with the Tarrant County College family.”

On average, the communications and external affairs department receives 10-15 messages daily from the chancellor button, Gates said.

The department monitors them. If the message is something that can be answered by a department head or another TCC official, the message is forwarded, Gates said.

“If it’s something urgent, we make sure it gets in front of her [Hadley],” Gates said.

Johnson Hadley responds to messages directed to her personally. She said the feature has had a positive response, and the messages are generally about course selection and registration.

“I also receive great suggestions on how we might improve the TCC student experience,” Johnson Hadley said.
