Survival week on TR Campus will give students tips for college success. Students can stop by the Discovery Center (TRTR 3102) to find out more about available tutoring services as well as basic tips in reading, writing, math and science.

TR Campus students, faculty and staff are invited to volunteer for the Botanical Research Institute of Texas service project 2-5 p.m. Sept. 20. The SE Campus library will host The Literature of Prescription: Charlotte Perkins Gilman and “The Yellow Wall-Paper.” Developed and produced by the National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health, the traveling exhibit consists of six screens that will explore the 19th century feminist author’s semi-autobiography and her experiences after being prescribed the rest cure. Books on the subject will also be displayed.

The Bill of Rights exhibit is in the SE Campus library. The historical document, photographs and other constitutional amendments will be presented on 12 freestanding photomontage posters.

The SE Campus will celebrate Constitution Day. On Monday, the library will have a display 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Students are invited to the library where they can observe Constitution Day and learn about the document’s founders. From 10:30-11:30 a.m., library and student activities staff members will ask students trivia questions about the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Participants will receive a cupcake. On Tuesday, Rick Yoes, campus electrician, will dress in colonial costume for a dramatic reading of the Bill of Rights followed by a John Lundberg, history instructor, presenting “Original Intent: Fact or Fiction.”
