Lectures to consider energy pricing issues

Energy Conference: Pricing, Production, and Legality, presented by NW Campus business department Tuesday, Feb. 19, will shed some light on current issues.

Dr. Stephen Brown, director of energy economics at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, and Judon Fambrough, lecturer and attorney with the Texas Real Estate Center at Texas A&M, will speak.

Sessions will focus on energy prices and legal issues in the production of oil and gas. Dr. Thomas Kemp, NW business and economics professor, believes the conference will be beneficial.

“I have been to a few energy seminars that were interesting, very well attended, and I got a lot of practical information out of them.” he said. “We have been wanting to do this since last fall, but it has taken some time to get these two speakers booked. It’s great we finally put it together. I can’t think of two people I would rather have speaking for this conference.”

Both of the speakers are in high demand, Kemp said. Brown is a well-known author who just released a book,What’s Driving Energy Prices. Fambrough has a great deal of experience with the legal side. He specifically deals with condemnation of real estate by gas companies and has done extensive contract work.

Specific issues will be addressed during question-and-answer time following each presentation.

The event is open and free to anyone who wants to attend 8-11:30 a.m. in WSTU 1303.
