NE Campus will hold a series of workshops to help students get their collective heads back in the game.
“Bottom line is life happens,” NE special services coordinator Ronda Isaacs said. “A lot of things happen at once, and your education takes a back seat to a life event, but when that happens, it’s hard to get back on track.”
Get Back on Track and Finish the Race will present strategies students can use to become better learners and motivate them to finish their degrees.
The workshops will be held noon-1:30 p.m. March 26 in NBSS 1103, 4-5:30 p.m. April 1 in The Galley (NSTU 1506) and noon-1:30 p.m. April 21 in the Larry Darlage Center Corner (NSTU 1516). All presentations will cover the same material.
“Unfortunately, your instructor can’t tailor the class to your specific learning style,” she said. “We’re going to talk about how to identify your learning style and the different things you, as an individual, can do to get the most out of a lecture or a lab.”
Isaacs said she wants returning students to have the tools to be successful.
“If your GPA has suffered, what are some things you can do to boost your GPA? Do you know how to calculate your GPA?” she said.
