TCC’s commencement ceremony has doubled in size since last year’s.
More than 2,000 students will receive certifications or diplomas at TCC’s commencement ceremony, beginning at 6:15 p.m. May 11 at the Fort Worth Convention Center. The ceremony, hosted by NE Campus, is expected to last two and a half hours.
NW Campus graduate Danielle Miles will give the keynote address. After Miles dropped out of school at 16 and became a single mom, she is now graduating TCC with honors. She hopes to earn a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of North Texas.
Graduating students should arrive at the Commerce Street entrance of the Convention Center between 4:15 and 4:45 p.m.
Caps and gowns should be picked up at the campus bookstores.
Guests are encouraged to arrive an hour beforehand. Parking will be free on TR Campus, and shuttles will leave from the circle drive in front of the campus beginning at 4 p.m.
Section 203 will be reserved for hearing-impaired guests, and the ceremony will be interpreted. Graduates who want their names signed as well as called should contact Phyllis Bazile at 817-515-5483.
Faculty shuttles will leave at 4 p.m. from the campuses. The NE, NW and South campuses’ shuttles will leave from the campus flagpole, and TR Campus’ from the circle drive. No shuttle will leave from SE Campus, but SE faculty are encouraged to ride from a different campus.
The Convention Center doesn’t allow helium balloons inside.
