Habitat for Humanity joins South in building project

TCC’s honor society has partnered with Habitat for Humanity to build affordable housing March 8 for individuals in need.

South Campus honor society president Kyle Chapman said the society has four hallmarks they follow.

“One of these hallmarks is service,” he said. “As a result, our organization chose to take on service projects throughout the semester in order to teach our members their obligation to their fellow man.”

Chapman said this service is something he hopes will give members of the honor society a deeper understanding of their organization.

“Service projects with Phi Theta Kappa are always rewarding,” he said. “They won’t be sorry knowing they helped their fellow man.”

In regards to what the honor society will be doing, Chapman said he was told they would be framing windows and doorways.

“It is an excellent opportunity for our organization to give back to the community that many of us grew up in,” he said.

Non-members can participate with the honor society at 8 a.m. March 8 at 4817 Virgil St. in Fort Worth.
