Special pampering for a queenly mom

By Keisha McDuffie/ne news editor

Why not treat mom or wife (remember toddlers cannot shop alone) to a spa package or a day of beauty? This type of pampering is extremely popular with mom. And for good reason!

Here are a few places where mom can relax and feel appreciated.

Serenity Day Spa, 7610 Glenview Drive in North Richland Hills, offers a special Mother’s Day package for $170. Mom can enjoy a serenity tension relief massage, serenity facial and express pedicure. To ensure a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, Serenity has a no children policy.

Brandy Marshall, stylist and former Rusk educator, and Aura Hoi, certified paramedical esthetician and licensed cosmetologist, at Salon on the Hill, 725 Arcadia St. in Hurst, have paired up to offer a Mother’s Day special for $105.

Mom can enjoy a consultation, cut and color with Marshall in addition to a scalp-massaging shampoo and deep conditioning mask, blow dry with styling and spa facial by Hoi, including exfoliation and a aromatic massage of the face, neck, hand, feet and shoulders.

Ogle School of Hair, Skin and Nails has an array of services performed by students under the supervision of licensed instructors.

A facial with steaming begins at $13; manicure and pedicure services begin at $8. Hair cuts, color and waxing are also available. Visit ogleschool.com, for a location near you.

Daired’s Salon and Spa Pangea, 2400 W. Interstate 20 in Arlington, is offering five total Mother’s Day packages. Prices range from $185-$480. For the Busy Mom package is a three-hour treatment with aromatherapy bath, pedicure and body scrub.

Mylinda Renay Salon, 780 Road to Six Flags East, Suite 240 in Arlington, offers a haircut and style beginning at $45; nail services begin at $20, and spa services (facial, massage etc.) begin at $45. For scheduling information, visit mylindarenaysalon.com.

Shelton’s Salon and Day Spa, 2731 S. Hulen St. in Fort Worth, has a Shelton’s Day of Beauty package for $285.

Mom will begin her day with a full-body massage or body treatment and a healthy facial cleansing, followed with special attention to the nails. Mom will leave looking her best with a Shelton’s blow-dry style and makeup update. Lunch is included.

The Beauty Brand Salon Spa Superstore, 4601 W. Freeway in Fort Worth, offers a little bit of everything and at reasonable price.

A haircut with style ranges from $24 to $38 while a one-hour facial with an “uplifting” massage and hand treatment begins at $60.
