‘Last Supper’ features 12 women in history

By Christy Andersen/reporter

Students and faculty are invited to have dinner with 12 of the most influential women in history at The Last Supper: For Women Lonely tonight on South Campus.

Carlos Rovelo, a South Campus government instructor, will give a multimedia presentation to highlight a few of the prominent women in the arts, science and civil rights fields 7-8 p.m. in the SSTU Living Room.

“We will be introduced to ladies such as Rosa Parks, Frida Kahlo and Mother Teresa,” he said. “I am doing this lecture to honor my mother, all women really.”

The one-hour presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session with Rovelo, who encourages attendees to ask questions about who these women really were.

“We all know who Mother Teresa was,” he said. “But do we really know what her family life was like? Those are questions I hope people ask to really get to know these women.”

This free event is part of the South Campus Women’s History Month celebration.
