TCC students and faculty who appreciate the beauty of Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, but not the price, can now purchase discounted tickets to see Memphis Feb. 13.
TR’s African-American Heritage Month committee contacted the entertainment company that manages shows at Bass Hall to negotiate a discount. The partnership has made available $25 tickets that usually range from $50-$100.
Student development associate Eddie Brassart said this benefits students both financially and academically.
“Financially, this ticket price is almost unheard of,” he said. “Academically, the subject matter of Memphis can be applied directly to what is being taught in TCC history, government, psychology, sociology, speech and fine arts classrooms.”
Memphis is a Tony Award-winning musical about the forbidden love between a white radio disc jockey who wants to change the world and a black club singer ready for her big break. It features an original score with music by Bon Jovi founding member David Bryan.
“This is a great opportunity to bring the TCC district together,” Brassart said. “The benefits are enormous.”
Tickets can be purchased by going to www.basshall.com/promo and entering the promo code TCC. Up to four tickets can be purchased at the discounted price.
