Dodgeball, the best or worst grade school experience for so many, is making an appearance on SE Campus.
A one-day dodgeball tournament Oct. 7 will determine who can dodge, duck, dip and dive the best.
“Teams will face off in best-of-three matches,” said SE intramural coordinator Shahzad Nazir.
“The games will be decided by the five-minute time limit, or until everyone is out on one team.”
Nazir added that every game in the tournament will count as it will follow a single-elimination format.
While usually not a big talking point, the referees who will officiate the tournament are of the highest caliber, Nazir said.
“We have three actual professional dodgeball players coming in to ref the games,” he said. “They were cool about coming out and are very serious about dodgeball.”
Nazir said while it was hard to reach the professionals, it was worth it as everyone involved is excited.
“It’s cool for them to come out,” he said. “And hopefully, we help them promote the sport.”
The tournament will start at 1 p.m. in the SE Campus gymnasium.
A free agent meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 30 also in the SE gym.
“Going to the meeting will give people a chance to make teams,” Nazir said. “We will set everyone up who comes.”
