April 13 NE Campus continues its annual International Festival and Spring Fest celebrating cultural diversity and student opportunities with music, food and entertainment 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the chessboard area. Local vendors will offer students career and community service opportunities, and colleges from the area will offer information to students.

April 13 A jazz and poetry slam will take place 6-9 p.m. in the South Campus Recital Hall. Students are invited to read their original poetry, and the top three poets will win cash prizes. Sigma Delta Kappa will sponsor the event. Author/poet Mike Guinn will host the event.

April 14 Students can attend Employers Tell All on SE Campus. A panel of employers will be present 10 a.m.-noon in the North Ballroom to answer questions about résumés and interview preparation. This event is free and open to the public.
April 15 Summer registration opens for all campuses.
April 16 This is the last day to drop 16-week courses for the spring semester.
April 16 The African-American Student Organization will sponsor a five-on-five Hoop It Up in the South Campus gymnasium beginning at 10 a.m. The event is open to the public, but students under the age of 18 must have parental consent to play. The team who places first will receive a cash prize. Admission to the event is $1 or two cans of food. A portion of the proceeds will go to the American Red Cross to assist in both local and national disasters.
April 19 SE Campus will host student awards night 7-9 p.m. in the North Ballroom. The awards honor students and campus organizations for their achievements made during the academic school year. For more information, contact student development associate Amy Staley at 817-515-3103.
April 19 Former NW adjunct instructor Demeta Rose will present the Blazing Your Way to Good Credit seminar. Rose has worked in financial planning for 15 years and will teach attendees how to manage and save their money to avoid a financial crisis. She also will offer ways to get out of major credit card debt. The seminar will be 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the SSTU Texas Room on South Campus.
April 19 NE Campus will honor its exemplary and award-winning students at this year’s student Awards and Recognition ceremony. The reception will begin at 6 p.m. in NSTU Center Corner featuring the music of TCC faculty, and the ceremony will begin at 7 p.m.
April 20 SE Campus will host a job fair 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Main Commons. The fair is open to the public and will have companies like Chase, Six Flags and UPS. For more information, contact senior office assistant Darrell Whitsell at 817-515-3569.
April 20 Students can get free testing for cholesterol, blood sugar, HIV and bone density as well as give blood or sign up to be a bone marrow donor at the NW Campus Annual Health Fair 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in WSTU 1303-1305. Hosted by the NW health services, representatives from area medical organizations will pass out information including John Peter Smith Hospital’s program to help people who cannot get insurance obtain affordable health care. Some organizations will also conduct free tests. Tours of a MedStar ambulance, a CareFlite helicopter and a TCC fire truck will also be available.

April 21 The Prosecution vs. The Defense will be 11 a.m.-noon in WSTU 1305 on NW Campus. Prosecuting attorney Ann Montgomery-Moran, assistant district attorney for Ellis County, and private attorney Jerry Wood will discuss the criminal trial process and their respective roles.
