Universities visit SE Campus for transfers

Bringing more information about universities to SE Campus students is the goal of Transfer Rally Week March 29-April 1 noon-2 p.m. in the North Ballroom.

“Transfer Rally Week offers informational seminars for our students interested in transferring to a four-year school,” said Casey Ramos, SE transfer center coordinator.

“It will be a discussion between university representatives from all over the state and the students interested in their institutions.”

Students need to be introduced to choices they have for transferring to a four-year school, Ramos said.

“This event also permits students to ask university representatives unlimited questions and receive further information that they may have not had the opportunity during a 30-second chat at a college fair or while passing a recruitment display table,” she said.

While students may not get all the information they need when they visit the universities, Transfer Rally Week ensures that students get the information needed to benefit from it, Ramos said.

The representatives can provide information on programs and scholarship opportunities for transfer students, she said.

“It may be beneficial if they would like to bring note-taking materials and/or an unofficial transcript or degree plan to have as reference when speaking to the university representatives,” Ramos said.

The event is free and open to the public. Five to six different universities will be represented every day in the North Ballroom.

“It is a great opportunity for students to learn about specialized programs and scholarships offered at various universities,” Ramos said.
