Now-Feb. 28 The Photography Faculty and Staff Biennial Exhibit will be on display 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday in College Hall (NCAB 1111) on NE Campus. The exhibit is free and open to the public. A Feb. 13 artists’ reception for the exhibit will be 5-7:30 p.m. in College Hall.
Now-March 7 NE Campus’ art department presents Breathing Air Squeezing Clay in the J. Ardis Bell Library. The ceramics show includes work from advanced students in all ceramics classes. Students can meet the artists 10 a.m.-noon Feb. 8 in the library. The work is on display Monday-Sunday during library operating hours.
Now-Feb. 9 The Artisan Center Theater in Hurst presents Footloose, the story of an outsider in a small community that has banned dancing and rock ’n’ roll. Feb. 13-16 SE drama presents New Play Festival 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13-16 and 1:30 p.m. Feb. 15-16 in the C.A. Roberson Theatre on SE Campus. The festival will feature five student-written plays. Each one is directed by a different faculty member. After the performances, the audience can discuss the plays. Feb. 6 The Sammons Center for the Arts in Dallas will Celebrate the Greats and pay tribute to the memory of renowned jazz saxophonist David Newman and honor living legend Johnny Pate. The performance will feature guest appearances by Newman’s son, Cadino, on vocals and Texas music legend Roger Boykin.
