NW music faculty to show off skills

The NW music department will hold its semester Faculty Recital March 31.

The event will showcase a variety of performances ranging from voice, with performances by Kathryn Garber, Karin Vaught, Lois Hart and Patricia Bedford; piano: Richard Powell, Michael Reed, Tabitha Boxerman and Echo Wilson; saxophone: Mario Cruz; guitar: Michael Dailey, William Douglas and Ryan Strittmatter; and trumpet: James Lind.

The performers have fantastic resumes, Garber said. All of the music faculty on NW Campus have recorded and performed internationally. Some awards the faculty members have received include Grammy awards and Metropolitan Opera awards.

Attendants will hear anything ranging from jazz, opera, Baroque, classical and music from the Romantic era. The opera performed will be in its original language.

The recital begins 12:30 p.m. Wednesday and will run for one hour in the Recital Hall (WFAB 1105). Admission is free, but space will be limited.
