NE series focuses on Native American knowledge, future

Lisa Uhlir, NE government professor, will hold a discussion over Native American learning and a Native American perception of knowledge to kick-start her four-part series Native American Lessons: The Past or the Future.

“Native tribes possess considerable knowledge about the natural world,” she said. “We have only begun to appreciate the value of this knowledge. Perhaps, it may even be too late to save much of what can only be thought of as education lost in time.”

The professor hopes that all students who attend “can see that knowledge can be gained and understood in different ways.”

NE students can hear the first discussion on learning styles 12:30-1:30 p.m. Nov. 5 in the Larry Darlage Center Corner (NSTU 1615A) on NE Campus.

For more information on the discussion or series, contact student activities at 817-515-6234.
