Fun run to raise funds for Kappa Delta Pi scholarships

By Michael Foster-Sanders/campus editor

NE students, faculty and staff can run to raise funds for scholarships at the Dollars For Scholars Fun Run 8-11 a.m. by the tennis courts on NE Campus.

Participants can choose between a 1-mile run or an untimed 5K run. The race will  be unofficially timed.

The event will also have a food truck and music for families who can come out to enjoy.

Kappa Delta Pi president Katherine Saenz said she wanted to give back to the TCC community before graduation, so she implemented a scholarship fund, which could be financed by the event if done annually.

“This has been a project I’ve been working on since January, and the event was going to take place in a park in Hurst, but we decided to have the event on campus,” she said.

The application for the scholarship is on the Kappa Delta Pi website for students interested in applying at https://sites.google.com/site/tccnekdp/.

Tickets for the event cost $10-$25 and can be purchased on eventbrite.com
