TCC hosted several events to honor, recognize and celebrate veterans throughout the week leading up to Veterans Day Nov. 11.

TR Campus hosted the second annual Community & Veterans Breakfast, titled “Faces of Freedom” on Nov. 8 which invited veterans from all branches of the military who served during several of America’s past conflicts. The event included a Missing Man Table Ceremony to honor veterans who were killed or went missing in action.

Area high school JROTC students joined TCC students for the American GRIT competition on TR Nov. 9. The obstacle course included dragging dummies and crawling under wires to simulate physical activities that soldiers often take part in. Groups also pushed a Humvee in a timed event that tested endurance, strength and teamwork skills during the American GRIT competition.

SE Campus invited veterans for a Veterans Day observance Nov. 10. A crowd filled the campus’ commons as each veteran received a gift from SE students, faculty and staff members.

South, NE and NW also held events to honor veterans throughout the week.
