Students will hear activist, author discuss child abuse law

By Michael Foster-Sanders

In honor of Women’s History Month, TR Campus student
activities will host Preventing Child Abuse: The Creation of “Jenna’s Law” with speaker Jenna Quinn March 29.

Jenna’s Law is a Texas state law that mandates all public schools, charter schools and day care facilities train children K-12, staff and parents annually on the signs and symptoms of all forms of child abuse.

Quinn, who “Jenna’s Law” is named after, is a survivor of child abuse, an author and activist who also advocated for 26 other states to adopt the Texas law for child abuse training.

The discussion will take place in the Idea Store 9:45-10:30 a.m.
