South professor to show culture of Swaziland

News Brief By Christine Bethke/reporter

Students will get the chance to learn about life in Mbabane, Swaziland, a Fort Worth sister city in Africa, Nov. 17 on South Campus.

Staussa Ervin, South psychology assistant professor, will speak about life for Mbabane students compared to student life in Fort Worth.

“The big picture I want students to see is the interconnectedness of all people around the world,” said Ervin, who has taught on South for nine years.

Swaziland is a small landlocked country in southern Africa.

Mbabane, the capital and largest city in Swaziland, has an estimated population of 95,000 and has been a Fort Worth sister city since 2005.

Ervin has been to Mbabane twice and plans to lead a delegation to Swaziland in June.

The presentation will be 1-2 p.m. in the SSTU Living Room.

Specialty tea from the country will be served. For more information, contact Ervin at 817-515-4774.
