The NW Student Christian Ministries Thanksgiving Club gathered and delivered over 40 turkey dinners for Fort Worth area homeless over the Thanksgiving holiday. The care packages included turkey sandwiches, chips, candy and personal care items, all hand-packaged and decorated by NW students.

Now-Dec. 17 The NE Veterans Association is collecting men’s coats and canned goods to be delivered to Liberty House, a transitional shelter for homeless veterans. Donations can be dropped off at NSCE 1103 or any of the dropboxes around campus. For more information, contact NE Campus Veterans Association adviser David Sallee at david.sallee@tccd.edu.

Dec. 9 The National Marrow Donor Program will be on South 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the SLIB Drake’s Study Break Café for bone marrow donations. Donors must be 18-60 years old and in good health. For more information, contact health services coordinator Tina Ingram at 817-515-4531.

Dec. 9 Carter BloodCare will have mobile units for a blood drive 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on the South SSTU patio. Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and have a valid photo ID. Cholesterol testing will also be performed. For more information, contact health services coordinator Tina Ingram at 817-515-4531.

Dec. 11 Registration for wintermester ends at midnight.

Dec. 11-17 Final exams take place. (Go to collegian.tccd.edu for final exam schedule.)

Dec. 12 Tarrant County Public Health will provide free STD screening 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the TR health services office (TREF 1213A). Screenings are open to students, faculty, staff and the public. For more information, contact TR registered nurse Felicia Payne at 817-515-1059.

Dec. 12-15 The TR library will host Therapaws so students feeling stress from finals can relax and spend time with therapy dogs. The dogs will be in the library 10 a.m.-noon Dec. 12, 14 and 15 and 3-5 p.m. Dec. 15. For more information, contact TR library manager Stephanie Wineman at 817-515-1237.

Dec. 14 The NE Campus Innovation Forum will present two yoga sessions the week before finals 10-11 a.m. in NLIB 2100C. No reservations are required. Students should arrive with yoga mats in hand. For more information, contact Innovation Forum liaison Julie Nichols at julie.nichols@tccd.edu.

Dec. 14-17 SE student activities will offer testing support 8 a.m.-6 p.m. in the Commons. Contact student activities at 817-515-3595 for more information.

Dec. 16 TR health services will provide free, confidential HIV testing for students 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in TREF 1213A. Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are accepted. Students should allow 30-45 minutes for a testing session. For more information, contact TR health services coordinator Angela Virgin at 817-515-1337.

Dec. 18 Faculty and staff offices close at 5 p.m. Winter break begins.

Jan. 4 Campus offices reopen.

Jan. 9 Final exams and classes end for wintermester.

Jan. 12 Registration ends at midnight for spring 16-week and first eight-week classes.

Jan. 18 Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday for faculty and staff.

Jan. 19 First day of spring classes.

Jan. 29 First day of spring weekend classes.
