John Peter Smith Hospital has been ordered to remove TCC student Marlise Munoz from life support, a judge ruled during a Jan. 24 hearing.
Munoz, brain dead since Nov. 28, remained on life support because she was pregnant at the time of her death.
State District Judge R.H. Wallace ruled that the law the hospital applied to Munoz could not apply to someone no longer legally alive. JPS Hospital must pronounce Munoz dead and remove her from life support by 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27.
