TCC students, faculty and staff and the public can get a head start on holiday shopping at the Fall Festival and Craft Fair 4-7 p.m. Nov. 12 in the NSTU cafeteria.
NE Campus Kappa Delta Phi will host the event to raise money for scholarships for students in the organization.
“We always have continual fundraisers to help build our foundation,” said education instructor and event organizer Lisa Self. “We are trying to go up and over so we can get a real base to offer scholarships in the spring.”
Self said funds from the event will mainly go toward scholarships they want to start offering, but all of the proceeds will directly affect the students in the program. She said they are constantly doing something to help fund the program.
The festival part, which Self said is more for children, will offer games, a jump house and face painting.
The craft portion will center on vendors such as Avon, Sensi Candles, a seamstress and several people selling jewelry. Raffles will also be going on to win merchandise from the vendors.
“Anyone that wants to come and shop is invited,” Self said. “They should bring their kids. They’ll have fun too.”
The raffle tickets will be sold for $1 each. Tickets are 50 cents per game, but a $5 wristband will allow children to play all games. Those who bring gently used children’s books will receive one free ticket.
