Lincoln historian to address SE group

A Pulitzer Prize-winning author will be on SE Campus March 1 speaking about the book that brought nationwide acclaim.

Eric Foner, history professor at Columbia University, will talk about The Fiery Trial: Abraham Lincoln and American Slavery at 6 p.m. in the North Ballroom. The book not only won the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for history but also received the Bancroft Prize and Lincoln Prize. It examines how Lincoln’s view on racial equality evolved throughout the Civil War.

Copies of Foner’s books will be available for purchase and autographing after the presentation. Those needing more information should contact Michael Downs, history assistant professor, at 817-515-3202 or via email at michael.downs@tccd.edu.
